Jazmina Cininas was born in Australia from Lithuanian descent. Her prints and other works are held in many collections through out Australia and overseas including the National Gallery of Victoria and the Art Gallery of South Australia. She has staged solo exhibitions both in Australia and Lithuania. Cininas lectures in printmaking at RMIT, where she is also a doctorate candidate.
In her recent venture Antipodean Bestiary, at RMIT`s Project Space, Cininas presented eleven artists; Jacqui Stockdale, Julia Silvester, Heather Shimmen, Geoffrey Ricardo, James Morrison, Danie Mellor, Rew Hanks, Rona Green, Marian Drew, Annette Cook and herself, who produced a thought provoking study, through a range of different media, of our native fauna, landscape and colonial histories.
