Michael Brennan, extract from exhibition catalogue.2010In his latest exhibition In the Low Light, Aaron Martin has presented 11 paintings arrived at, according to the artist, trips to and from a studio residency he has undertaken at St Vincent’s hospital. While the subjects of these paintings are familiar; a camping tent, an illuminated tree, an artist’s model skeleton, they are presented often in ambiguous and abstract settings and as intensified depictions of everyday objects.
